My inspiration is the work of Eliot Porter, who pioneered color landscape photography and advocated for truthful recording of nature, especially his Sierra Club books, 'In Wildness is the Preservation of the World' and 'The Place No One Knew, Glen Canyon on the Colorado River'. His intimate views make you feel as if you are with him, experiencing a place.
In Oregon, I have hiked for many years into Opal Creek and love to photograph the interplay of light and water in the stream. The images seen here are from that series.
